Celebrating the Life of Abrin Farris

On January 1, 2024, we bid farewell to a man who lived life with an infectious joy and an unwavering

Love for those around him. Abrin Farris, age 75, of Caneyville, KY, transitioned to eternal peace at

Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Hospital in Leitchfield, KY, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, camaraderie, and cherished memories.

Born on March 24, 1948, in Grayson County, KY, on the family farm, Abrin was the son of the late Sol and Pearl Higgs Farris. A skilled mechanic, he lent his talents to various endeavors, including operating a family owned garage and sawmill. His dedication to hard work and his craft was matched only by his warm and inviting spirit. He graduated from Caneyville High School in 1966. He enjoyed his cars, quail hunting with his father, shooting trap and fishing.

Abrin's love knew no bounds, extending to his daughters, Leigh Farris of Shelbyville, KY, and Jennifer Farris of Louisville. His joy was further amplified by the presence of his beloved grandchild, Jourdan Farris, of St. Petersburg, Florida. In addition to his immediate family, Abrin leaves behind a vast network of close friends, both chosen and extended family. A testament to the deep connections he forged throughout his lifetime.

Abrin's departure leaves a void that can only be filled by the memories of his laughter, his love for a good time, and the warmth he shared with all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In honoring his wishes, the family has chosen cremation as the final chapter in Abrin's journey. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. As we reflect on the tapestry of his life, let us remember the joy he brought to every gathering, the camaraderie he fostered among friends, and the love that flowed effortlessly from his heart.

May Abrin Farris find eternal rest, surrounded by the echoes of laughter and the love that defined his remarkable journey on this earth.
