Alice Smoot, age 78, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (April 2, 2023) at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

She was born on December 20, 1944 in Breckinridge County, KY, the daughter of the late Allen Pease and Pauline Basham Pease.

She was a factory worker having worked at Kane Manufacturing, Phar Shar Manufacturing and Trim Masters. She loved watching Gun Smoke because she liked Matt Dillon.  She loved her cats. Her family was her world because she adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked hard alongside of her husband, Willard Lee Smoot, whom she married on December 18, 1962, to provide a good home and excellent examples for her family. Daily phone calls to her daughters will be greatly missed. She was a strong believer in the Lord.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Hogan (Buddy), Debbie Haycraft (Terry) and Jennifer Smoot (Henry Finley); five grandchildren, Nicholas Haycraft (Deanna), Leslie Haycraft (Nate Watkins), Maddy Finley, Megan Hogan and Daniel Hogan; nine great-grandchildren, Aubrey Cubbage, Sawyer Haycraft, Logan Cubbage, Barrett Watkins, Danlee Hogan, Paislee Williamson, Riggs Williamson, Rebel Watkins and Cheyenne Watkins; her cousin, but loved as a sister, Inell Woodring; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Willard Lee Smoot; brother, Eleston "Butch" Pease; and sister, Eleanor D. Stevenson.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, (April 7, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Tim Whitworth will be officiating. Burial will be in the Eveleigh Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Friday until time of services.
