Allen Haynes, age 85, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He was born on February 27, 1931 in Cairo, Illinois, the son of the late Hannibal Augustus and Nerva Webster Haynes.
He was a retired groundman for the electric company who enjoyed spending time with his family. He attended Decker Holiness Church and Old Time Holiness House of God.
He is survived by his wife, Florean Whobrey Haynes of Leitchfield; two daughters, Freda Duvall and Debbie Newton (Jerry), both of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Tonya White (Matthew), Aaron King (April), Jeremy Newton (Lisa), Bradley Newton (Tamara) and Justin Newton (Rhonda); eight great-grandchildren, Kristin, Maggie, Amelia, Dylan, Kaitlyn, Madyson, KenneDee and Luke; one sister, Margie Stevenson (Emmett) of Caneyville, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hillary Haynes, a sister, Velma Hunt; and a great-granddaughter, Allison White.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (September 14, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Vester Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Saltsman Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
