Allene Wells, age 79, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (September 24, 2009) at her residence.

She was born on March 31, 1930, in Hardin Co., KY, the daughter of Archie Joseph and Carrie Grimes Deckard. She was a retired cook and was a member of the Leitchfield American Legion and the Millwood Apostolic Church.

She is survived by one son, Robert Wells of Leitchfield, six daughters, Brenda Carnes, Mary Lee Williams, Martha Haycraft, Bobbie Jean Higdon and Felicia Wells all of Leitchfield and Barbara Ashworth of Smyrna, TN, four sisters, Gladys Frakes of Arizona, Nellie Allen of Ohio, Janie Bynog of Elizabethtown, KY and Margie Robertson of Louisville, KY, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Wells.

Funeral services will be ¬Sunday at 1:00 p.m. (September 27, 2009) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro George Langdon will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of service.
