Alma Victoria “Vickie” Higdon, age 89, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (September 18, 2026) in the company of her family.

She was born on March 08, 1937 in Owensboro, KY, the daughter of the late Damien and Catherine Morris Johnson.

She was an assembly line worker at MTD who enjoyed embroidery, and spending time with her grandsons. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Whobrey (Anthony) of Leitchfield; two grandsons, Andrew Whobrey & Joseph Whobrey; three great-grandchildren, Bobby Whobrey, Carl Whobrey, & Riley Bailey. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Rayburn Higdon; 10 sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (September 26, 2026) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield. Father Thomas will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until 10:45 a.m., at which time we will move to St. Joseph Catholic Church for services.

A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Dermitt Funeral Home.
