Alma Doris Mattingly, age 85 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (December 25, 2020) at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 23, 1935 in Straw, KY, the daughter of the late Henry Pete Meredith and Ora Strange Horton.

Alma was a seamstress and a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, reading and gardening; and attended Tri-Unity Temple.

A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 66 years, Leonard Mattingly of Leitchfield; five daughters, Linda Miller (Kenny) of Munfordville, KY, Cathy Maulden of Magnolia, KY, Janice Tuttle, Barbara Crewz (Robert) and Bobbie Hood (Robbie), all of Leitchfield; a son, Leonard Lee Mattingly, of Hudson, KY; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lois Roof of Clarkson, KY, Betty Horton (Roy) of Kessinger, KY, Rose Howard of Leitchfield, KY; and a brother, Donnie Horton, of Hudson, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bobby "Red" Maulden and four sisters, Wilma Self, Mamie Blocker, Clara Horton and Patricia Newton.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, (December 31, 2020) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Joe Blanton will be officiating. Burial will be in the Eveleigh Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
