Alton Teamon Mattingly, age 72, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Monday, (December 22, 2025) at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on March 21, 1953 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late William H. and Gladys Wells Mattingly.

He was a retired janitor from the Owensboro Twin Lakes Regional Hospital. Teamon enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He married his wife, Sheila Blessitt Mattingly on May 17, 1974.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sheila Mattingly; one son, Kenny Mattingly and fiancé, Mandy Woodcock; two grandchildren, Jeremiah (Heather) Mattingly, and Jared (Brooke) Mattingly; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Ellis, Hudson Mattingly, and Percy Clark; two step-grandchildren, Tyler Decker, and Brittany Clark (Seth); one brother, William (Bill) Harrison Mattingly (Judy); and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jeanette Decker, Norene Elmore, Marcella Williams, Willadean Mattingly, Delma Dixon, and Ella Marie Kraatz; and one brother, Roger Mattingly.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (December 23, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Josh Milburn will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
