Anita “Lynn” Drake, age 78, of Hermitage, TN passed away Sunday, (May 10, 2026) at McKendree Nursing Home in Tennessee.

She was born on December 07, 1947 in Gadsden, AL, the daughter of the late Albert “A.D.” Thomas and Ruth & Buford Long.

A natural caregiver, she worked for many years as an ER Tech. She adored the friends she made through work and continued those relationships long after her retirement. She loved flowers and listening to the birds, and was a talented artist, often giving her drawings and paintings away as gifts.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Drake, of Hermitage, TN; a daughter, Robin Atkins (Steve) of Leitchfield, KY; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Scott (Megan), Natasha Viera (Chris), Katie Frye, (Tony) & Gary Atkins; four great-grandchildren, Christian Scott, & Everett, Brooklyn and Marty Frye; five brothers, Steve Long (Margaret), Patrick Long (Venus), David Long, Jerome Thomas & J.D. Thomas; and three sisters, Deb Henry-Irby, Ruby Burton, & Gloria Thomas. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Scott; and two sisters, Robin Denise Long & Deborah Wood.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday (May 23, 2026) at the Clarkson Baptist Church (5115 Elizabethtown Rd., Clarkson, KY 42726).

Visitation will be at the Clarkson Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. Saturday until time of service.
