Anna J. Preston Esto, age 76, of Leitchfield, KY, entered eternal rest on Sunday, (March 7, 2021) at the Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Hospital.

Ann, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on April 9, 1944 in Caneyville, KY.

At an early age, she and her family moved to Louisville.  It was there she professed her salvation at an old time altar at Zion United Baptist Church where she joined and remained a member until her death.  She along with her mom and sister, Gladys, sang at many church services, revivals, and homecomings.  Known as Sister Preston and her daughters, they sang for the glory of the Lord.

After returning to Grayson County, she once again sang for the Lord in a quartet with cousins, Howard and Susan Decker, and Myron Weedman.  She was saddened when her health prevented her from attending church.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, William Richard Preston and Ethel (Stinson) Preston; husband, Douglas Esto; and three brothers, Occy Winston, Hayward and Charles Preston.

She is survived by her sister, Gladys; three children, Lisa Woosley, husband Paul Wayne, Angela Shoffner, and Jeffrey Miller; as well as three grandchildren, Erica, Emily, and Nathan; and four great grandchildren.

She sang many times "Wait Til You See My Brand New Home".  Although we weren't ready to say goodbye, she's made it to that new home.  She will be missed, but we will be reunited and join her in singing one day when we too will make it to our new home.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday (March 11, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.  Bro. Cecil Williams will be officiating.  Burial will be at the Wilson Cemetery on Wilson Church Road in Caneyville.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
