Arlene Bitsky, age 81, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (October 16, 2016) at her residence.

She was born on November 2, 1934 in Chicago, ILL, the daughter of the late George and Louise Grigsby.

She was employed at Our Lady of Peace Hospital as a pediatric nurse. She had received an Associate Degree in Nursing. She was a vicarious reader, and loved her animals, Lucy, her dog, and Skittles, her cat. She was very active in her church, and prayed continuously. She loved being a mom, and loved her husband, Arthur, with whom she had been married 61 years at his death. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church.

She is survived by three sons, Randy Bitsky of Leitchfield, Richard Bitsky, of Shepherdsville, Kenneth Bitsky of Wedgefield, SC; one daughter, Susan Mitchell of Bardstown; step-brother, Jeff Kurisch (Pam);and five grandchildren, Tara and Sarah Bitsky, Dustin Mitchell, Corie and Brian Vega.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Bitsky, and step-mother, Dorothy Kurisch Grigsby.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (October 20, 2016) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield. Rev. Tony Bickett will be officiating. Burial will be in the St Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, until time of services at the church.
