Bennett Brooks, age 93, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Monday, (June 10, 2019) at his residence in Caneyville, KY.

He was born on October 29, 1925 in Butler County, KY, the son of the late Newton and Rena Elizabeth Woosley Brooks.

He was a farmer, a construction worker and had worked at Corps of Engineers for eighteen years. He enjoyed reading, watching westerns and American Pickers on television, and going to flea markets and auctions. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

He is survived by his children, Boyd Brooks (Sue) of Short Creek, Lannie Brooks (Wanda) of Caneyville, Lattie Brooks of Morgantown, and Hattie Cornelius (Clay) of Morgantown; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Baker Brooks; son, Lloyd Brooks; daughter, Wilma Evans; and grandchildren, Samantha Jo Brooks and Johnathan Tyler Brooks.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (June 13, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Donald Farris and Bro. Buddy Swift will be officiating. Burial will be in the Woodcock Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service.
