Bernard Lee Keown Sr., age 65, of Millwood, KY, passed away Tuesday, (May 6, 2008) at his residence.

He was born on April 27, 1943, in Grayson County KY, the son of Roma and Nancy Loretta Pharris Keown. He was a retired forklift operator at Gates Rubber Co., a Vietnam Army veteran and was a member of the Millwood Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lou (Miller) Keown, his mother, Nancy Loretta Keown, his mother-in-law, Edna Ree (Newton) Miller, all of Millwood, two sons, Bernard Keown Jr (Bonnie) of Jeffersonville, IN and Jimmy Keown, Millwood, two daughters, Jackie Parks (Jimmy) of Louisville, KY and Christie Faris (Robie) of Leitchfield, five brothers, Carl (Norma) and Dean (June) of North Carolina, James Randall (Jenny) of Brooks, KY, Robert G. (Lois) of Leitchfield and Kevin Keown (Jenny) of Owensboro, KY, seven sisters, Edith Goff of Shepherdsville, KY, Jean Ward (Cecil) of Clarkson, KY, Mary Hayes (Roger) of Whitesville, KY, Alice Penner (Bobby) of Leitchfield, Pat Duvall (Robert) of Caneyville, KY, Kathy Shartzer (Jimmy) of North Carolina and Sharon Salee (David) of Owensboro, eleven grandchildren, one unborn great grandson and 45 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Jean Vincent, his father, Roma Keown, a sister, Kaye Earls and his father-in-law, Walter Miller.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday (May 8, 2008) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Billy Macy will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
