Betty Louise Arndell

Betty Louise Arndell, beloved wife, mother, Granny, sister, and friend, passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 77.

Betty was born in Monticello, Illinois, on September 23, 1948, to Wanda and Vernon Burton.

Betty was the loving wife of Thomas Darrel Arndell, her husband and lifelong companion. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Betty worked as a hairstylist for more than 50 years, building lasting friendships with the many people who sat in her chair.

Betty found joy in the simple things. She loved golfing, quilting, working Sudoku puzzles, and traveling to Panama City Beach, a place she loved visiting and making memories with her family. She especially loved watching her grandchildren play sports and was always there cheering them on. Being their Granny was one of the greatest joys of her life.

Some of the sweetest memories of Betty were made sitting together on the front porch, talking about life, sharing stories, laughing, and simply enjoying one another’s company. Those ordinary moments were never ordinary when spent with Granny, and they will be among the memories her family treasures most.

Betty is survived by her husband, Thomas Darrel Arndell; her son, Scott Allen Arndell (Amy); her daughter-in-law, Sue Arndell; her grandchildren, Ashley Cockriel (Dwayne), Madison Arndell (Trevor), Mackenzie Boards (Martez), Bryce Arndell, Autumn Wilson (Chris), and Spencer Wilson (Natalie); her great-grandchildren, Eli, Bella, Callie, Reese, Raina, Martez, Mara, Charlie, Easton, and Payton; her sisters, Barb Carr (Tom) and Trish Necessary (Doug); and a special niece, Pam Logsdon.

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Darrel Arndell Jr., and her parents, Wanda and Vernon Burton.

Betty’s greatest joy was her family. She loved deeply and created a lifetime of memories that will live on through the people she loved. Her family will carry her love with them in every ballgame, every trip to the beach, every conversation on the porch, every family gathering, and all the little moments that will forever remind them of their Granny.

Funeral services will be held on September 11, 2026 at the Caneyville Baptist Church at 12:00 noon CST. Bro. Wayne Clemons will be officiating with burial in the Broadway Baptist Church Cemetery in Leitchfield.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 10, 2026 beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST at the Caneyville Baptist Church, and on Friday at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
