Betty Joe Baker, age 76, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Thursday, (December 30, 2021) at home.

She was born on February 27, 1945 in Leitchfield, KY, to the late Bryant and Louella Brooks Childress.

She was a Certified Medicine Technician and a Certified Nurses Aid, who enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening and working in her flowers. She was proud member of American Legion Post #81, serving as past President for the Auxiliary unit and past Auxiliary Chaplain and especially enjoyed her time as Post Bingo Caller. She was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd J. Baker of Clarkson; three daughters, Tammie Joe Caple (Glenn) of Shepherdsville, KY; Pammie "Giggy" Hickman (Eric) of Morgantown, KY, Maranda K. House (Bobby) of Louisville, KY; two sons, David M. Snyder (Rhonda) of Brandenburg, KY; and Wendell Bryant Snyder (Amy) of Leitchfield; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Childress (Diane) of Big Clifty, KY; and sister, Mary Langdon of Leitchfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David "Randy" Snyder; a granddaughter, Desiree Caple; and six siblings, Pat, Junior, Lonnie, Wanda, Anna Lou & Maxine.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. CST Thursday, (January 6, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Harry Curry will be officiating. Burial will be in Layman Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. CST Thursday until time of services.

Betty's family asks that those who come to the visitation and funeral service please wear a mask covering their nose and mouth while paying their respects.
