Betty Jo Harvey, age 79, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (November 21, 2023) at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.

She was born on June 12, 1944 in Caneyville, KY, the daughter of the late Russell Birch Sr. and Agnes Raye Kiper Birch Lee.

She was a secretary and bookkeeper at Mid-Park Metals who enjoyed attending NASCAR races with her late husband, and walking and spending time with her friends in Quail Run. She was a member of the Crosspoint Church.

She is survived by her brother, Russell Birch Jr, of Mason City, IL; a sister, Diane Geary (Danny) of Leitchfield; and two sisters in law, Eleanor & Sandra, both of Illinois. Several nieces and nephews and many friends also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Harvey; two brothers, Edgar & Tom Birch; and a sister, Evelyn Swift.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (November  29, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jerry Dunaway will be officiating. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.

Betty had many friends who love her dearly. Her loving support has made all of her friends and family stronger.
