Betty Joan Hayes, 73 , of Caneyville, Kentucky passed away on September 20, 2021 while surrounded by her family at Owensboro Regional Hospital.

Joan was born on May 21, 1948 to the late Gova & Juanita Wilson Bratcher. A cherished sister to Bobby Joe Bratcher (Tiffany) of Central City, KY. The beloved mother of Julie Embry and Robbie Hayes, both of Caneyville. An adored grandmother to Emily Carman (Chris) of Hanson, KY., Jenna McCoy (Jericho) of Campbellsville, KY., Rylie Grace Hayes and Hootie Hayes, both of Caneyville. A treasured great-grandmother to Evalea Jane and Charlea Beth McCoy of Campbellsville, KY. A loving Aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Bobby Leon Hayes, her parents, Gova and Juanita Bratcher, one brother, Jimmie Bratcher, and one great-grandchild, Baby Carman.

She was a member of Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church and a retired secretary and business owner. Her family meant everything to her and she enjoyed her days with them. Joan was known for her excellent cooking skills, creative ideas, and her willingness to help others.

There will be a private graveside service on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 3:00 at Simpson Cemetery in Caneyville, KY. Her honored friend, Brother Darryl Dockery, will be officiating the service.
