Betty Jo Johnson Lazausky, age 83, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (July 12, 2026) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on March 24, 1943 in Leitchfield, KY, the daughter of the late Zelbie Gordon and Mabel Smith Johnson.

She was a caretaker and a seamstress who enjoyed cooking, housekeeping and flower gardening.

She is survived by her siblings, Gordon Johnson of Millwood, Sara Manion, James Johnson (Gwen) and Martha Terry, all of Clarkson; a lifelong friend, Nina Litsey Johnson; and three close in-laws, Thelma (Tootie), Mary and Jo Ann. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Francis “Fran” Lazausky and a sister, Barbara Clark.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (July 15, 2026) at Layman Memorial Cemetery in Millwood.
