Betty Joan Reese, age 82, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Friday, (October 4, 2024) at Sun Rise Manor in Hodgenville, KY.

She was born on August 30, 1942 in Eufaula, Alabama, the daughter of the late Clyde and Beulah Grambling Hartzog.

She was a housewife and a home maker who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was married to Jackson Reese in 1962, and together they had a wonderful life until his death in 2021. Betty Joan was a member of New Freedom Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Reich and husband, Jim of Caneyville; grandchildren, Jennifer Cottrell (Jared), Jessica Tuttle (Justin), Jason Reese (Alyse), April Braun (Tommy) and Andrew Reich; great-grandchildren, Noah and Caleb Cottrell, Brooklyn and Mackenzie Tuttle, Coley and Caleb Reese, Amelia and Evelyn Braun, and Layla Reich; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Reese and her son, Coley Reese.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, (October 11, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Stephen Copelin and Bro. Brandon Fields will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. on Friday until time of services.
