Mary Elizabeth "Bettye" Watkins, age 89, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away on Monday, (April 08, 2019) at Springview Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on August 23, 1929 in Millwood, KY, the daughter of the late William and Genie Odle Duggins.

She worked as a Certified Medication Assistant with Grayson Manor for more than 30 years and a member of the Little Clifty Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, going to yard sales, spending time with her pets and visiting with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Charles "Joe" Watkins, Jr. and Bruce Watkins (Arleta) both of Leitchfield; a daughter, Pam Morrison also of Leitchfield; seven grandchildren, Cassondra Lowe (Randy) and Angela Morrison, both of Owensboro, KY, Gary Morrison (Crystal) of Shelbyville, TN, David Watkins of Wichita, KS, Dustin Watkins (Danielle) of Plantation, FL, Tara Bennett (Bjorn) of Springhill, TN and Joseph Watkins of Clearwater, FL; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter Alexandrow, Makayla & Madison Lowe, Brandi Kelley and Bretta Stice, Clementine & Benjamin Bennett, and Nash Watkins.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mandy Moore.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (April 13, 2019) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bruce Watkins will be officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Louisville chapter of the American Diabetes Association or the Leitchfield Animal Shelter.
