Beulah Farris Downs, age 79, of Richmond, IN formally of Leitchfield, passed away Friday, (March 13, 2009) at the Forrest Park Health Center in Richmond, KY.

She was born on February 24, 1930, in Grayson County KY, the daughter of James Calvin and Anna Arrwood Farris. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leitchfield and attended the Calvary Church in IN. She also was the co-owner of Downs Appliance Center.

She is survived by one daughter; Tina Hatch of Liberty, IN, one grandson, Daniel Hatch of Richmond, IN, one step-daughter, Linda Downs of Dayton, OH, three step grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren, one sister Hallie Urbanski of Toledo, OH and three brothers, Clyde Farris of Leitchfield, Lewis Farris of Caneyville and Steven Farris of Shepherdsville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Louis Downs, two sisters and one brother, Imagene Fair of KY, Rose Bowers of IN, and Revere Farris of KY.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. (March 16, 2009) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Charles Larry Bell will be officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
