Beverly D. Thomas, age 64, of Leitchfield, KY, died Monday, (December 1, 2014) at her home.

She was born on December 7, 1949, in Falls of Rough, the daughter of the late Charlie and Imogene Day of Short Creek.

Beverly graduated from Caneyville High School and Western Kentucky University with a teaching certificate and earned her Rank I. She started teaching at Short Creek Elementary and then at Caneyville Elementary for a total of 36 years. She was a member of Short Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Miles L. Thomas of Leitchfield; three daughters, DeAnna (Derrick) Lasley of Leitchfield, Leslie Elmore of Leitchfield and Charlotte (Charles) Spinks of Big Clifty; seven grandchildren, Micah and Quendon Spears, Deranne and Dax Lasley, Sherry Thomas, Shyla and Channer Spinks; four brothers, Boyd (Becky) Day of Short Creek, William "Bill" (Connie) Day and Roger Barry Day, both of Leitchfield, Benny Day of Duff; and a sister, Bonnie (Randy) Langley of Short Creek; 11 brothers and sisters in law; Kaye (Joe) Castlen, Becky (Jerry) Carroll, Joseph "JJ" Thomas, Lanny (Martha) Thomas, Tina (Jimmy) Higdon, Dedra "Dee Dee" (John) Asher, Mike (Linda) Thomas, Dennis (Angie) Thomas, Tonya (John) Renfro, Medea Dennis (Larry Lampton), Mary Thomas, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Imogene Day, a sister in law, Sharon Thomas, and by her mother and father in law, Mary and Vinson Thomas.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (December 4, 2014) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Richard Harrison will be officiating. Burial will be in the Lahue-Bradshaw Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday with Bro. Brent Loy officiating.
