Billie Eugean VanMeter, age 76, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (September 22, 2009) at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born on November 24, 1932, in Grayson Co., KY, the son of James Hosea and Virginia Scott VanMeter. He was a concrete finisher and farmer and was a charter member of the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nova Ann Newton VanMeter, three daughters, Patricia Sharp of Clarkson, KY, Pamela Bradley and Karen Lasley both of Leitchfield, three grandchildren, Adam Wade of Clarkson, Rachel Bradley and Holly Lasley both of Leitchfield, three brothers, Joe and Carl VanMeter both of Leitchfield and John VanMeter of Galveston, TX, one sister, Lorene Wooldridge of Leitchfield and several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter and grandson, Emily Dawn Wade and Ethan Ray Bradley, his brothers, Chester, Berthel, Edward, Courtland and Floyd VanMeter, his sisters, Reda Moutardier, Polly VanMeter and Sylvia McGrew and his nephews, Gary, Andy and David VanMeter.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. (September 25, 2009) at the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Bros Edward Dermitt and Garry Watkins will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mulberry Flats Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Friday.
