Billy Joe Lucas, age 67, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 21, 2017) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

He was born on June 12, 1949 in Breckinridge County, KY, the son of the late Vernon (Mike) Sr. and Dorothy Mcholan Lucas Ashley.

He was a carpenter, who enjoyed playing music on his guitar and banjo, working on lawn motors, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was in the original country music band, The Country OutLaws, and the band, Twin Lakes Seven. He was baptized in the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife; Brenda Keown Lucas; daughter, Mary Beth Lucas (Richard Hazelwood); eight grandchildren, Elaina Vincent, Icis Powell (Cody VanMeter), Margo Powell (Davey Starcher), Josie Powell, Kiersten Lucas (Chris Stone), Joseph Lucas, Shelby Lucas, and Gavin Lucas; five great-grandchildren; sister, Lana Pollack; brothers, Vernon Lucas, Jr. (Bubby), Barry Lucas, and Gary Michael Lucas.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Ernest Ashley; two daughters, Rebecca Jo Powell, and Christy Lynn Lucas; two brothers, Larry Dwayne (Cricket) and Kenneth Lucas, and sister, Patsy Wilson.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (January 24, 2017) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Everett Hood will be officiating. Cremation was chosen with a private burial in Layman Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, and from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of services.
