Boyd Brooks, age 75 , of Falls of Rough, KY, passed away Wednesday, (August 24, 2022) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on March 16, 1947 in Butler County, KY, the son of the late Bennett and Blanche Baker Brooks.

He was a retired over-the-road truck driver and a heavy equipment operator.   He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to people. He and Betty Sue Hogan were married on April 7, 1968. Sadly, she passed away on June 27, 2019 after nearly 51 years of marriage. Boyd was a member of Rabbit Flat General Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1966-1968.

He is survived by his children, Beverly Milam (Anthony), Tammy Meredith and Michael Brooks; grandchildren, Morgan Ray (Brandon), Alexander Milam (Taylor), Gavin Piercey, Christian Gage Meredith and Carter Milam; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Olivia and Theodora; brother, Lannie Brooks, sisters, Hattie Cornelius, Lattie Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Brooks; great-grandchild, Bentley; brother, Lloyd Brooks and sister, Wilma Evans.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, (August 26, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Kevin Logsdon will be officiating. Burial will be in the Frank-Embrey Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Friday until time of services.
