Bridget Renae Payton, age 39, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (March 25, 2023) at her home.

She was born on September 28, 1983 in Elizabethtown, KY, the daughter of Fleshia Gail Mudd and the late Timothy Ray Payton.

She had worked at Dairy Queen. She loved the outdoors, taking long walks, fishing and camping. She also loved to sketch and color. Bridget was saved at Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church at a young age and attended Pine Knob Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Fleshia Mudd (Bob Yarborough) of  Leitchfield; son, Jameson Dudgeon; brother, Justin Payton (Amber) of Caneyville; her niece and nephew, Lillian and Mason; maternal grandparents, James and Linda Dudgeon;  aunts, Kim, Reba, Dena, Wanda, Peggy, Freda and Ginger; and several cousins.

Other than her father, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Coby Ray Payton; uncle, Jeffrey Basham; paternal grandparents, Murvel and Ruby (Wavy) Payton; maternal great-grandparents, Preston and Reba Noblett and one uncle, Samuel Noblett.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (March 30, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Lenny Hogan will be officiating. Burial will be in the Oller Cemetery off Free Zion Road.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
