Brooks Ramsey, age 92 of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (January 15, 2015) in Caneyville, KY.
He was born on November 4, 1922 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Virgil and Essie Mullin Ramsey.
He was a World War 2 veteran, a retired farmer, school bus driver and caretaker of the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. He enjoyed gardening, mowing his yard and was an avid whistler. He was a member of the Mt Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent, and song leader and was an elder of the church for over 40 years.
He is survived by four daughters, Louise Meredith of Caneyville, Elaine Houchin (Mike) of Leitchfield, Ann Dawson (Steve) Wade North Carolina, and Phyllis Raymer of Bowling Green KY, nine grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie and one great-grandson, Royce Logsdon.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (January 21, 2015) at the Mt Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Bro. Bill Macy will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt Vernon cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and at the Mt Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
