Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stanley Elmore, 89, who entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on (Saturday, June 20th, 2026.)

He was born on April 18th, 1937, the son of Tilford and Lori Elmore, and was raised by Hurdle and Elsie Huff from the age of 4.

Stanley worked as a carpenter for 45 years until his retirement. At the age of 60 years old, he was ordained as a minister in the General Baptist Church where he served with a warm smile and kind heart. Whether he was standing behind the pulpit, or quietly helping someone in need, he reflected Christ in both word and deed. A proud Kentucky Colonel, he enjoyed hunting, playing softball, growing a garden, and was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 70 years, Esther Hayes Elmore; one son, Steve Elmore (Angala); two daughters Teresa Elmore and Kim McCarty (David).

Stanley was a proud grandfather to Adam Gallagher, Chris Elmore (Sam), Jordan Elmore, Benjamin McCarty, and Nickolas McCarty. He was also blessed to have 5 great grandchildren: Presley, Benson, Bradlee Mae, Karma, and Emelia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tilford and Lori Elmore and Hurdle and Elsie Huff; one sister, Naomi Parker; and one brother, Odale Elmore.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
