Bud Newton, age 75, of Blowtown, KY, passed away Friday, (May 3, 2024) at in Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on January 21, 1949 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Thomas and Sarah Saltsman Newton.

He was owner and operator of his dozing company, and worked for others also as a dozer operator for 50 years. He was a farmer, and worked in a saw mill. He was married to his loving wife, Wanda Decker Newton for almost 53 years, marrying on November 6, 1971. He loved to sing and play his guitar.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Decker Newton of Blowtown; son, Stacy Lynn Newton; two sisters, Linda Decker (Delbert) and Shirley Decker (Bennie); several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Other than his parents, Thomas and Sarah Newton, he was preceded in death by his son, Tracy Adam Newton; and one niece, Susie Saltsman.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, (May 8, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Vester Decker and Bro. Leon Ashley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Blowtown (Bill Newton) Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
