Buddy Gene Ashley Sr., age 78, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (May 21, 2013) at Springview Health and Rehab in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on July 8, 1934 in Steff, KY, the son of the late Robert Warnie and Ruby Embry Ashley.

He was a truck driver.

He is survived by 2 sons, Sam Ashley of Louisville, KY and James Ashley (Sherry) of Taylorsville, KY; 1 daughter, Lori Ann Stout, of Shepherdsville, KY; 5 grandchildren, 4 brothers; Kendall Ashley (Sharlet) of Leitchfield, KY, Paul Ashley (Marilyn) of Louisville, KY, Ed Ashley (Wretha) of Indiana and Pat Ashley (Bunny) of Virginia; 1 sister, Peggy Morris (Lester) of Georgia.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Buddy Ashley Jr.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (May 26, 2013) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Buddy Brooks will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
