Obituary
Byron E. Minton, age 80, of Louisville, KY passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany, IN.
Byron was born on October 3, 1926 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Frank & Delphia Tomes Minton. He served in the United States Navy and was a career lab technician for DuPont. Byron was a member of Peace Chapel General Baptist Church and the Kosair Shriners. He was a 32 Degree Mason of the Boaz Masonic Lodge and had been honored as a Kentucky Colonel.
Byron is survived by his wife, the former Glida Mae Wilson, of Louisville, son Jeffrey S. (& Michelle) Minton of Greenville, IN, two grandchildren Scott and Jake Minton, and brother James "Bert" (& Alice) Minton of Louisville.
Visitation will be at Owen Funeral Home, Dixie Highway, Louisville from 1pm until 6pm EDT on Sunday, May 13 and at Union 'Rabbit Flat' General Baptist Church in Caneyville from 11am until 2pm CST on Monday, May 14. Funeral services will follow the visitation on May 14, with Rev's Steve Prewitt, Rudd Kerr and Rob Hammond officiating. Interment will be in Rabbit Flat Cemetery.
Masonic service will be 5:00 P.M. Sunday by the Boaz Masonic Home Lodge #850 at the Owen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kosair Charities.
