Carolyn Jean Evans, age 80, of Caneyville, KY was called home by the Lord on July 3, 2025. She passed away at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born the youngest of three daughters on January 30, 1945 in Big Reedy, KY to the late Ray Evans and Imogene Huff Evans. She cherished her time reading and studying her Bible, playing Bingo, working on her Crossword and Word Search Puzzles and playing Solitaire.

Carolyn's grandmother, Leora Bolton Huff, better known as "Two Mama" would always tell her children and grandchildren "Pretty is as pretty does". Carolyn then passed this on to her girls.

Carolyn and her girl's father owned and operated Smith Shoes in Morgantown, Leitchfield and Bowling Green, KY for many years.

Left to cherish Carolyn's memory are her 3 daughters and their husbands, Renee & Tim Fisher of Bowling Green, KY, Tosha M. and Gordon Mudd of Caneyville, KY and Stephanie and Wendell Dunn of Morgantown, KY. 5 grandchildren, Kyle & Mindy Madison of Dayton, OH, Kent & Jessica Madison of Bowling Green, KY, Olivia & Austin West of Morgantown, KY, Kristen Lusk of Louisville, KY and a special granddaughter, Shiana Embry of Roundhill, KY. 3 Stepchildren, Eric and Kim Gibson, Robert and Aimee Gibson, Adam and Merriann Gibson, as well as 22 great grandchildren, step-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Gibson; the father of her children, Leonard G Smith; two sisters, Theda Ray Huff and Pauline Snell; a brother-in-law, Obie Huff and a grandson LCPL, Timothy Kirk Madison, USMC.

Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, (July 09, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, KY.  Bro. David Brown will be officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, (July 09, 2025) from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 2:00 pm.
