Catherine A. "Kitty" Nowlin, age 55, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (February 21, 2010) at her residence.

She was born on March 29, 1954, in Leitchfield, KY, the daughter of Tommy VanMeter and Adlee Dowell VanMeter. She was in property management, and later in retail at Wal-Mart. She was a member of the McGrew Baptist Church in Anneta.

She is survived by her husband James Nowlin of Leitchfield; her mother Adlee VanMeter of Leitchfield; one daughter Kristen Nichole Nelson (Christopher) of Leitchfield; one son Nicholas McCoy of Leitchfield; one step son Larry Nowlin of Nacogdoches, TX; four sisters, Debbie Clemons of Pearland TX, Rachel Terry of Clarkson, Miranda Troublefield of Anneta, Melanie Manion of Leitchfield; four brothers, McClee and Marion of Anneta, McCoy of Leitchfield, Jeffery VanMeter of Clarkson; and one granddaughter McKenzie Nelson. She was preceded in death by her father Tommy VanMeter, and three brothers, Carry, Larry, and Willie VanMeter.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00p.m. (February 24, 2010) at the McGrew Baptist Church in Anneta. Bro Charlie Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrew Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 2:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00am on Wednesday at the Dermitt Funeral Home, and after 12:00 noon at the church on Wednesday until time of service.
