Catherine Wade, age 87 of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (November 26, 2014) at her residence.

She was born on August 16, 1927 in Edmonson Co., KY, the daughter of the late Rev. Jefferson and Gertha Rigdon Hester.

She was a former owner, along with her husband, Stephen, of Wade's Grocery, who enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and sewing and was a member of the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church.

She is survived by four children, Dean Wade (Patsy) of Leitchfield, Vanda Ray (Doug) of Clarkson, KY, Daris Wade of Leitchfield and Valerie Morgan (Ray) of Taylorsville, KY, five grandchildren, Austin Wade (Megan), Tana Dickerson (John), Shawna Bogard, Adam Wade and Sara Morgan, four great grandchildren, Emma, Jana, and Lila Dickerson and Savanna Bogard.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Wade, a granddaughter, Emily Wade, seven brothers and sisters, Delmar and Opal Hester, Naomi Wade, Jesse Hester, Mary Harrison, and Vanda and Winford Hester, two half-brothers and two half-sisters, Thomas and Earl Hester, Clara Wilson and Janie Carroll.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (November 30, 2014) at the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church. Bro. Howard Decker, Bro. Austin Wade, Bro. Charles Larry Bell and Bro. Blake Newton will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mulberry Flats cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Sunday and then taken to the church for services.
