Chad Kevin Hayes, age 44, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (July 13, 2021) at his home.

He was born on April 27, 1977, in Leitchfield, KY, the son of Norbet Hayes and his late mother, Mildred Saltsman Hayes.

He was an electrician. Chad enjoyed music, playing piano and bass guitar. He graduated from Grayson County High School in 1995. He was a member of New Freedom Church.

He is survived by his father, Norbet Hayes, three sisters, Debbie Smith (Moon), Barbara Edwards and Lisa Lacefield, all of Leitchfield; one brother, Danny Hayes of Reno, Nevada; nieces and nephews, Carlita Smith Stone (Tony), Derrick Smith (Tiffany), Kristen Smith Cook (Mark), Toria Hayes Logsdon (Shawn), Christopher Edwards (Tasha), Trevor Edwards (Crystal) and Whitney Lacefield (Doug). There are several great nieces and nephews also surviving.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Saltsman Hayes and his grandparents, Ed and Sybil Hayes and Fred and Ruby Saltsman.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (July 24, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Christopher Edwards and Bro. Curtis Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of services.
