Charlene Buster, age 70, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (February 25, 2026) at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on July 14, 1955 in Clarkson, KY, the daughter of the late Charles Newman Buster and Margaret Henrietta Poteet.

Sometimes known as “Persistence”, she was a caregiver who enjoyed quilting, collecting and selling vintage items at flea markets and yard sales. She was a member of the Clarkson Church of Christ.

She is survived by her soulmate and the love of her life, Matthew Tratar of Leitchfield; step-children, Jo Tratar of Elizabethtown, Willow Blakeman and Charlotte Tratar, both of Grayson County; a brother, Danny Stewart (Melissa) of Washington State; a sister, Mary Lindsey (Roger) of Leitchfield; and six nieces and nephews, Billy and Stuart Belcher & Daniel, Richie, Scotty & Megan Stewart. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
