Obituary

Charles B. Givens, age 86, of Leitchfield, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

Charles was born Aug 23, 1924 in Steff ,KY. He was one of 4 children of the late Clifford & Mabel (Oldham) Givens.

Charles co-owned & operated Givens & Houchin Bulk Milk Hauler for 36 years. He also operated Givens Used Cars for many years. He was veteran of WWII where he served in Stuttgart, Germany for two years. He was a dedicated member of the Christian Assembly Church in Louisville. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand-father. He leaves a host of family & friends who mourn his passing. He will be missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Lois Young Givens, one son, Jerry Wayne (Dee) of Louisville and two daughters, Brenda Karen Jenkins (Charles) of Louisville, and Tammy Grant (Wendell) of Marion, Il., by four grandchildren Amy & Jeremy Givens (Kelly) of New York, Greg Jenkins (Richelle) of Louisville, Christy Raynor of Louisville and two great-grand children, Julian Miravete & Olivia Givens and one step grandchild Amy Gadansky (Joe) and two step great grand-children Sophia & Emma and by one sister Helen Embry (Roy) of Steff. His two other sisters preceded him in death, Christine Pierce and Genene Payne.

Viewing Monday, March 28th from 2-8 pm at Dermitt Funeral home in Leitchfield.

Funeral Services Tuesday, March 29th at 1pm at the Christian Assembly Church 9020 Stonestreet Road, Louisville. (Friends may call after 11a.m.) Rev. Jack Ross will be officiating. Burial will be at the Beth Haven Cemetery.
