Obituary
Charles Edward Lucas, age 85, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (March 11, 2014) at Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield.
He was born on August 17, 1928 in Grayson Co., KY, the son of the late Carl and Retha Drane Lucas.
He enjoyed bingo, gardening and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was retired from the Courier Journal/Louisville Times as a self-contract hauler for 51 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Pat Booth of Louisville and Sandra Lucas (Hershel) of Louisville, KY, two sons, Curt Lucas (Diane) of Leitchfield and Randall Lucas (Loretta) of Louisville, one brother, Ralph Lucas (Eula) of Leitchfield, one sister, Joyce Hayes of Caneyville, one Aunt, Cassie Whiteley of Breckinridge Co. KY, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Lucas and two sisters, Alene Raymer and Imogene Moffett.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, (March 13, 2014) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Chester Shartzer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Holly Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
