Charles Hubert White, age 86, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (March 19, 2014) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on June 18, 1927 in Grayson Springs, KY, the son of the late Charles Harvey and Leona Grant White.
He retired as an assistant foreman from the KY State Highway Department. He enjoyed gardening, and sports. Farming was his hobby and his lively hood for many years. He loved working in tobacco and working with his cows. He was married to his late wife, John Lillian Hultz White for sixty years. He was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his four sons, John (Wendy) White, Charlie (Kelli) White, Kerry (Victoria) White, and Michael White; three daughters, Joyce (Edward) Johnson, Veronica Gibson (Henry Basham), Laura (Greg) Hughes; four brothers, Lionel, Clay Thomas, Fred, and Randolph White; three sisters, Mary Nan White, Patty Campbell, and Martha Myers; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, John Lillian White; daughter, Mary Jane White; brother, Gerald White; and sister, Olga Roach.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (March 22, 2014) at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Clarkson. Rev. Brian Johnson will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Augustine Church Cemetery.
Prayer Service will be held on Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p .m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with services following at the church.
