Charles Leo Whobrey, age 83, of Anneta, KY, passed away Wednesday, (September 28, 2016) at his residence.
He was born on April 19, 1933, in Anneta, Ky, the son of the late Willard and Emily McGrew Whobrey.
He was a logger, who enjoyed hunting, ginseng digging, working on cars, and repairing guitars. He was a member of New Harmony United Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Marty Whobrey (Valarie) of Ashley, Ohio, Tommy Whobrey (Barbara Geary) of Anneta; a daughter, Nena King (Leslie) of Anneta; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren; a sister Florean Haynes of Leitchfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Whobrey, two brothers, Clarence and Elwood Whobrey, and one son, Charles Whobrey.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (October 2, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Joey Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrew Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
