Chester Wade "Buck" Logsdon, age 89, of Clarkson, KY, went home to be with his beloved wife, Pernie, on Sunday, (October 23, 2016).
He was born on April 20, 1927 in Laurel Run, KY, the son of the late Clyde and Louzetta Logsdon.
He was an artisan, who enjoyed making knives, whittling, quilting, doing inlay work on instruments, and making instruments. He was a concrete mason. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Wilhelm Masonic Lodge #720 in Clarkson, KY.
He is survived by one daughter, Glendolyn Thompson of Clarkson; three grandchildren, Katina Christy Whitsett (David), Stacey Tennille Andrews (Charles), Joseph Wade Thompson (Jessica); seven great-grandchildren, Christopher, Derek, Kelsey, Sierra, Logan, Mason and Trinity; one half-sister, Helen Haycraft.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pernie Butler Logsdon, and son-in-law, Bill Thompson.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, (October 26, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Charles Quisenberry will be officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. A Masonic service will be held at the Dermitt Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to help with funeral expenses.
