Obituary
Christeen Y. Sharp, age 99, of Owensboro, KY, formerly of Short Creek, passed away Saturday, (August 27, 2011) at the Owensboro Medical Center, KY.
She was born on December 19, 1911, in Grayson County, KY. She was retired from the Daviess County Health Dept.
She is survived by two sisters, Frances M. Litsey of Short Creek and Napolee Patterson (Thomas) of Shepherdsville, KY, a special friend, Cathy Martin of Owensboro and her care giver, Ann Tafarella also of Owensboro, KY, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Her husband, James Gordon Sharp, her mother and step-father, Mary and Ivan Mahurin, four brothers, Walter, Albert, Edgar and Hubert Mahurin and one sister, Vera Mahurin Young preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (August 30, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Mahurin Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.
Expressions of sympathy can take the form of donations to the Mahurin Cemetery.
