Obituary
Christine Newton Black, age 65, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (August 13, 2012) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, Kentucky.
She was born on October 21, 1946, in Leitchfield, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Harlan Ray Newton and Nora Mae Logsdon Mercer.
She was a retired sales clerk.
She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Young (Bobby) of Caneyville, two sons, Derick Black (Christina) of Louisville, KY and Scotty Black of Leitchfield, her mother, Nora Mae Mercer of Leitchfield, one brother, Murel Newton and one sister, Martina Cockriel both of Leitchfield, five grandchildren, Christopher Woosley, Devan, Ciara, Mary and Kaylee Black and a great granson, Levi Woosley.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harlan Ray Newton and one brother.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (August 16, 2012) at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
