Claire Jean Downs, age 78, of Anneta, KY, passed away Saturday, (March 23, 2013) at the Kensington Manor in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on May 4, 1934 in Grayson Co., KY, the daughter of the late Leslie Moses and Hallie Moutardier Harrison.

She was a former line worker at Vermont American and a member of the Anneta United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Gary Downs (Debbie) of Fisherville, KY, her daughter, Mari Lynn Arnold of Elizabethtown, four grandchildren, Amanda Miller (Lee) of Elizabethtown, Gina McCamy (Adam) of Alabama, Ashley Downs of Fisherville, KY and Bryan Downs (Shannon) of Louisville, two great grandchildren, Ricky Downs and Austin Miller, two brothers, Charles Harrison (Mary Jo) of Beaver Dam, KY and Leon Harrison (Barbara) of Leitchfield, and one sister, Joan Bess (Larry) of Clarkson, KY.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Downs, a step-mother, Thelma Harrison and a brother, Don Harrison.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. CST Wednesday, (March 27, 2013) at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Charlie Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Anneta Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. CST Wednesday until time of services.
