Clara Juanita Ross, age 86, of Gray, GA, passed away Saturday, (July 18, 2015) at her residence in Gray, GA.
She was born on October 10, 1928, in Brownsville, KY, the daughter of the late Audrey and Lena M. McCrady Coates.
She was a restaurant worker, who enjoyed quilting, collecting dolls, making doll clothes, canning, and home making. She had attended New Freedom Baptist Church, and had attended Rock of Ages Baptist Church in West Virginia.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rev. James Howard Ross of Gray, GA; two sons, James Wendell Ross, and Russell Dean Hack, Sr. both of Gray, GA; daughter, Crystal Dawn Ross Black of Georgia; eight grandchildren,twelve great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas, and Junior Randall Coates, both of Leitchfield; three sisters, Laverne Shepherd and Wanda Clyde, both of Shepherdsville, and Dorothy Hardin of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, (July 24, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jimmy Johnson and Bro. Marty Tucker will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
