Cloie M. (Smith) Berkley , age 78, of Madisonville,KY, passed away Wednesday (March 18, 2009) at the Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville, KY.
She was a housewife, and a member of the Manitou Missionary Baptist Church, and First Free Will Baptist Church. She was born on September 18, 1930 in Butler Co. KY the daughter of the late Denny and Dorcie (Flenor) Smith.
She is survived by her two sons Joel and his wife Carolyn, of Prospect, and Darrell and his wife Tina of Taylorsville, one daughter, Rita and her husband Terry Spalding of Mt. Washington, three sisters, Betty and Jean Heflin both of Madisonville, Linda Graham Sims of Beaver Dam, 7 grandchildren & 9 great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joel Oscar Berkley, two brothers, William and Edward Smith.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. (March 22, 2009) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Sam Beeny will be officiating. Burial is in the Mc Grady Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 9:30 a.m. Sunday until time of service.
