Cloretta Gibson, age 63, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (September 6, 2016) at the Golden Living Center–Hillcreek Nursing Facility in Louisville.
She was born on July 6, 1953, in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Mac and Iva Williams Gibson.
She was a home-maker, who enjoyed walking, baking, watching her favorite shows "Andy Griffith" and "Little House on the Prairie", and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Clarkson Church of Christ.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Hazelwood (Cliff) and Amanda Akridge all of Leitchfield; son, Brian Akridge of Clarkson; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Wayne (Larry) of Louisville, Judy Zelezany of Texas, and Ernestine Lindsey (Wilbur) of Clarkson: five brothers, Bro. Hank Gibson (Debbie), Leslie Gibson (Shirley) all of Clarkson, Delmer Gibson (Susie), Jimmy Gibson (Patsy) all of Louisville, and Bradley Gibson (Barbara) of Clarkson; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cletus and Glenuel, and three sisters, Ilene, Lillian, and Ora.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (September 9, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Gibson Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. on Friday until time of services.
