Clyde Farris, age 78, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (February 13, 2014) at Grayson Manor in Leitchfield.

He was born on July 31, 1935 in Anneta, KY, the son of the late James (Cal) and Annie Arrwood Farris.

He enjoyed fishing and gardening, was a retired supervisor from the Bullitt County Stone Company and a member of the Short Creek United Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret (Hack) Farris, one daughter, Barbara Bratcher (Brennis) of Caneyville, a granddaughter, Tara Riley Newman of Leitchfield, two great grandchildren, Christopher and Nichole Newman, two brothers, Steve Farris of Florida and Lewis Farris of Caneyville, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Revere Farris and four sisters, Imogene Fair, Rose Bowers, Beulah Downs and Hallie Umbaskie.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (February 15, 2014) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Gary Woosley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Short Creek United Missionary Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
