Dr. Connie "Miss Connie" Jean Hayes, age 50, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (December 26, 2012) at her home.

She was born on August 9, 1962 in Clarkson, KY, the daughter of Ronald and Imojean Bratcher Hayse.

She was a retired principal of Carter Elementary School in Louisville, KY. She was a member of the Southeast Christian Church in Louisville.

She is survived by her mother, Imojean Bratcher Hayse of Leitchfield, a half-brother, Ricky Bratcher of Ohio County, KY, her brother, Floyd Hayse (Mary) of Leitchfield, her sister, Charlotte Bratcher (Danny) of Caneyville, seven nieces and nephews, Dana Bratcher Beatty (Nathan), Magan Hayse Sosh (Joey), Jennifer Bratcher Oneil, Steven R Hayse, Trena M. Bratcher, Daniel L. Bratcher, and Gracie A. Hayse and a great nephew and great niece, Lucas R and Allie A Beatty.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Hayse.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, (December 30, 2012) at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Charlie Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
