Courtney Ella Smith, age 82, of Louisville, passed away Friday October 14, 2011) at Summerfield Nursing Home in Louisville.
She was born on January 11, 1929, in Butler Co, the daughter of Pirtle & Minnie Embry Dockery. She was a charter member of Peniel Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by 1 daughter Rebecca Smith of Louisville, 2 grandsons Donald Sullivan & Eddie Ray Brooks both of Louisville, 5 great grandchildren, several stepchildren & nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 sister Erna Gary.
Funeral services will be Tuesday October 18, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dermitt Funeral Home with Bro. Daryl Dockery officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 9:00 am - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday until time of service.
