Curtis Ray Parks , age 66, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Wednesday, (July 22, 2026).

He was born on October 15, 1959 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Hayward Parks and Doris Lee Shain Parks.

He was a logger and worked for several years at Grayson County Road Department until retirement. He was a simple man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and frog gigging. Well known to all for raising chickens, having a pet squirrel and raccoon, and fooling with horses as well as a pet deer. Curtis was also a member of the First Apostolic Church in Millwood, who enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family. It is well worth noting that he was also a father figure to four of his grandchildren who greatly adore him.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Parks; two sons, Curtis Parks (Tara), and Joseph Robert Parks; two daughters, Missy Swift (Roger), and Melinda Parks; thirty grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Danny Parks (Laura), and Jeffrey Parks (Gina); one sister, Carolyn Young. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Parks; three brothers, Joseph, Roger, and Junior Parks; one sister, Laverne Sanders; also preceding him in death were some nieces and nephews and his loving dogs Dixie and Hummer.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, (July 29, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Keith Shephard will be officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
